Lovely fish and chips and large portions
I am just getting better from an illness. I just had a hankering for 2 fish cakes for my supper, the type in breadcrumbs. no chips (although I did get chips for my wife). The fish cakes seemed to be 'domestic size, rather than chip shop - about 2 inches across. I was surprised... but not as surprised as I was to find I was given 3... 2 of them looked old, crushed and scorched from the heat. I threw them away, took a bite of the one good one and it was horrible. No repeat visits from me. Wife threw her chips as well, they looked ok, but she lost confidence.
This place has gone downhill over the past few years. Last few times I've had fish it was vile - Greasy stodgy batter and dry overcooked fish. Also when ordering the house special it depends on who serves you to how much meat etc you get. Some servings are ample whilst others are not. Pretty dissapointed as it was a good chippy years ago !!
Awful fish and chips. I was given a thin slither of battered fish that looked and tasted like it had just come out of an Iceland freezer. The chips were tough, dry and lifeless. I cannot recommend as they're clearly doing everything at the lowest possible cost and that shows with the poor quality food. I won't be returning.Edit: missing comma.
Great chippy. All the staff are friendly and you always receive a warm welcome.A very good choice on the menu to note are the lunch time special which is served until 2pm, this includes mini fish, chips, sausage or fish cake with a choice of peas, beans, gravy or curry.Also worth noting is the house special mixed kebab priced at just over 5. This is a huge portion served with chips salad, mixed meat and pitta.
